  • S4 E20: Arguments vs Assertions - Thinking Apologetically!

Coming off the heels of our Mini Series on Reformation and Counter‑Reformation teachings, I wanted to take an episode to share some thoughts on apologetics—specifically, how we can sharpen our discernment when evaluating arguments. It’s not something we often pause to consider, but when we’re defending the faith, it is vital that we understand the nature of the objections being raised. We need to recognize the assumptions, assertions, and hidden premises that shape an objector’s argumentation.
Far too often, claims are being smuggled in without us noticing, which makes defending the truth far more difficult. But when we use the gifts of logic and reason that our Creator has given us, we can stand firm and give a clear, confident defense of the hope within us.
My goal in this episode is to encourage you to examine arguments more carefully, think through logic a little deeper, and apply that clarity to your defense of the truth. Leave a comment, drop a like, and don’t forget to bring your snacks!

  • Mini Series E4: Reformation and Counter-Reformation: Doctrines That Divided and Defined Christianity

The finale is here! We’ve reached the point of the Reformation that truly makes or breaks the gospel: How is a person justified—made right before a holy God?
Throughout this mini‑series we’ve explored the clarity and sufficiency of Scripture, the canon of Scripture, and the doctrine of grace. Now we arrive at the heart of it all: justification by faith—and by faith alone.
Eastern Orthodoxy teaches that our works is the cause of what makes us right before God. But what does Scripture actually say? The Reformers aimed to recover this reality, this gospel—the only gospel—of justification by faith in Christ’s finished work and nothing else.
I hope you’ve enjoyed the journey up to this point, and I pray this finale strengthens you in your walk. If this episode encourages you, leave a comment and share it with a friend. God bless.

  • Mini Series E3: Reformation and Counter-Reformation Doctrines That Divided and Defined Christianity

We’re finally back! After a brief detour through my Sunday school session and a wild episode on racism in the church, we’re returning to our series on Reformation and Counter‑Reformation Teachings. In this episode, we turn to a cornerstone of the gospel: the doctrine of grace and the nature of man.
We’ll examine the fundamentally flawed and unbiblical anthropology affirmed by an Eastern Orthodox council—one that claims not all have sinned and even suggests that many, in fact vast numbers, have never sinned at all. This view undercuts the very need for the gospel. In contrast, we’ll look at Cyril Lucaris and the broader Christian witness that echoes Scripture’s clear teaching: all stand guilty in Adam, and all desperately need grace.
If you’re ready for a deep dive, grab a snack, settle in, and enjoy the conversation.
