    Mike Leblanc

Harvard | Marine | Sequoia Founder

Mike LeBlanc brings a distinct perspective shaped by experience in environments where decisions carry real consequences. He spent 13 years as a Marine Corps officer, including deployments and advisory work at the Pentagon, before transitioning into entrepreneurship and building robotics companies deployed in complex, real-world conditions.

After leaving the military, Mike co-founded multiple robotics companies, including Cobalt Robotics (acquired in 2024) and his current company, Foundation Future Industries, which builds humanoid robotic systems for defense and industrial applications. His work sits at the intersection of leadership, technology, national security, and organizational design.

Podcast conversations with Mike tend to go beyond surface-level business stories. He speaks candidly about leading under pressure, building teams from nontraditional backgrounds, translating military experience into civilian organizations, and what it actually takes to deploy technology in high-stakes environments. He also draws on experience building venture-backed companies at the intersection of AI and robotics—from early hiring and product decisions to scaling and fundraising across all stages. Hosts often find that his background creates natural entry points into discussions on leadership, trust, decision-making, ethics, and execution—whether the audience is interested in startups, defense, robotics, artificial intelligence, or personal leadership growth.

  • Book 101 Review, now in its sixth season, features Mylena Sutton The Leadership Fanatic Who Turns Tough Conversations Into Breakthrough Moments — as my guest, where we explore how courageous dialogue, emotional intelligence, and intentional leadership can transform conflict into opportunity, strengthen relationships, and unlock meaningful growth in both personal and professional environments.
    2026/04/01

    Mylena Sutton

Mylena Sutton - The Leadership Fanatic Who Turns Tough Conversations Into Breakthrough Moments

Mylena Sutton believes you are the locomotive. She is the steam. But she will not work any harder on your goals than you do.

Known as "The Leadership Fanatic," Mylena is a leadership consultant, growth coach, and the force behind both Pink Boxes Club and Voltage Vista Consulting. She helps leaders and individuals confront the hard conversations they’ve been avoiding so they can finally create the cultures, habits, and lives they say they want.

Her throughline is simple: #AllLeadershipIsPersonal. And her life's work is helping people #AlignEverything — because the gap between who you are at work and who you are at home isn't a boundary. It's a blindspot. She doesn't believe there's a version of you that clocks out at 5pm. The same person who avoids hard conversations at home is managing them at work. The same person who subordinates their needs to protect a partner's ego is doing it in the boardroom too. They're just more afraid of getting fired.

She does this work in two arenas. Through Voltage Vista Consulting, she works with organizations and leaders navigating workplace dysfunction, conflict, harassment, and the hard conversations they've been avoiding. Through Pink Boxes Club, she works with women — typically in their late 30s through 60s — who are applying those same principles to the lives they're actually living. Same person. Same principles. Different environment.

Her message to both: just because someone else has needs — even desperate ones — doesn't mean yours are insignificant. Guilt is a feeling. Feel it. Then do what you need to do anyway. Because guilt that goes unaddressed doesn't stay guilt. It becomes resentment. Whether in he board room or the living room, resentment is the tax you pay for giving people the impression that what you give - sacrifice, love, patience, going to bat for the team - is free.

  • Book 101 Review, in its fifth season, features Sheila Butler, Founder and Chief Marketing Officer, as my guest. In this episode, Sheila shares how she uses her superpowers of branding, customer loyalty, and strategic marketing to help clients build stronger, more meaningful connections with their audiences.
    2026/03/30

    Sheila Butler

Founder & Chief Marketing Officer using my superpowers of branding, loyalty & marketing strategy for clients. Will work for bourbon.

discovered my passion for marketing unexpectedly when I convinced a leader in Disney Marketing to hire me for a special event project after stage-managing over 800 guest performances at Walt Disney World and working on over 50 special events for Disney Entertainment. Little did I know that this temporary assignment would lead to my fantastic career in branding, loyalty, marketing strategy, and partnerships.

My career has taken many turns, including:

    • Applying the brand management principles I learned at Disney to venture capital pitches at a tech startup in Philadelphia after leaving Disney

    • Returning to corporate America, this time in financial services at Bank One/JPMorgan Chase, where I worked with Disney, Starbucks, IHG, Best Buy, BP, and numerous other brands and loyalty programs

    • Relocating to the Washington, DC area to lead the Choice Privileges global loyalty program and its partnerships, and later leading global marketing for Choice Hotels International

    • Becoming Chief Marketing Officer for a Florida-based regional bank that invests in fintech companies

    • Launching a boutique marketing firm in Greater Orlando, Florida, with a view of Disney fireworks from my balcony

Today, I create marketing that leaves a legacy using my superpowers:

    • Transforming brands: Merging companies need to explain their expanded brands in new ways. Product launches need a voice, personality, and brand promise. Individuals reinventing themselves for their next career challenge need marketing narratives that describe what makes them unique. My proprietary Butler Branding BootcampTM process, refined over two decades, uncovers your unique brand and messaging through highly interactive sessions.

    • Deepening customer loyalty: I optimize loyalty and membership programs to boost customer engagement, reduce acquisition costs, yield valuable customer data for future targeting and personalization, and drive revenue. Crafting the ideal set of benefits to motivate desired customer behaviors, managing the loyalty P&L, and balancing practical and aspirational rewards were vital to profitably growing Choice Hotel’s global loyalty program by 19.5 million members in three years.

    • Developing high-ROI marketing strategies: With a data-driven, results-oriented, and AI-first mindset, I align marketing and communication strategies with business objectives. From strategic annual marketing plans across owned/earned/paid channels to customer journey mapping, thought leadership, and content strategies, I ensure each marketing action contributes to business goals. I bring over two decades of growth marketing experience in B2B, B2C, and B2B2C to project-based and fractional Chief Marketing Officer engagements.

    • Fostering connections: Finding hidden synergies and creating alliances by bringing together brands, ideas, and people to unlock new possibilities feeds my soul. From developing the first Disney Visa credit card and launching the program to forging strategic partnerships that add customer value and increase company revenue, my favorite career moments have centered around opportunities created when working together.

  • Book 101 Review, in its sixth season, features Christopher Rivers, discussing The Real Story Behind You Shouldn’t Have to Kill to Get Ahead and How We Rebuild the American Dream as my guest. In this episode, Christopher shares thought-provoking insights on ambition, ethics, and redefining success, while exploring how individuals and communities can rebuild opportunity, purpose, and hope in today’s evolving American landscape.
    2026/03/30

    Christopher Rivers

The Real Story Behind You Shouldn’t Have to Kill to Get Ahead — and How We Rebuild the American Dream

I grew up in a working‑class family that did everything right but still struggled to get ahead. At seventeen, I enlisted in the Army and went on to serve in Iraq and Afghanistan. After my first deployment, I earned my degree from West Point, returned to serve again, and later completed graduate studies at Georgetown.

Across those years — from combat zones to diplomatic work to corporate strategy — I kept seeing the same pattern: people working hard, playing by the rules, and still feeling like the system wasn’t built for them. That realization pushed me to run for state office, where I knocked on nine thousand doors and heard those stories firsthand.

My book, You Shouldn’t Have to Kill to Get Ahead, is the result of that journey. It blends lived experience with clear, accessible insights about leadership, belonging, and what it will take to rebuild trust and opportunity in America.

Hosts bring me on because I make complex issues human and hopeful. I don’t do partisan fights — I bring clarity, honesty, and a grounded perspective that helps audiences feel seen and empowered. If your listeners are hungry for a conversation that cuts through the noise and actually means something, I’m here for it.
