  • Where are you being called to be merciful?
    2026/04/14

The good news of mercy is that we are being given what we don't deserve, and aren't being given what we do deserve. That's mercy. Given such a gift, we are invited to give it away to others. In a way, love demands mercy, again and again. In marriage, in family, in friendship: love doesn't survive without mercy. Mercy doesn't ignore wrongs; it forgives even when it costs you something. It means letting go of resentments and vengeance. So ask yourself honestly: where is God calling you to be merciful?

  • Let your "feet" be washed (Holy Thursday)
    2026/04/03

We all have those parts of our life that we avoid looking at, hide from others, and even pretend God can’t see. But he does see — and He cares. His love for you is unrelenting and entire. He doesn’t want just the pretty parts of your life — He wants all of you. To take all the smelly, grungy, ugly places in your life and make them cleansed and healed and refreshed.

  • Everything is Grace (Palm Sunday)
    2026/03/31

It's hard to believe the message of the Cross. It's hard to trust that in letting go, we'll receive; that through suffering, we'll find healing; that it's in dying that we'll find life. But that's really the heart of Holy Week: life now comes through the Cross, because that's where Jesus has gone. Because of Jesus, because of what He's done for us, everything is grace. That's the truth we celebrate this week.

    2026/03/25

Jesus didn't come to simply give us more of the same. He came to transform everything and everyone who belongs to Him. That is the resurrection promise: not a return to what was, but a life made whole — healed, restored, and made new in God. This is the heaven we long for, and it is worth the wait.

  • The Lost Art of Asking for Directions
    2026/03/17

Lent is not so much about doing external things, changing this or giving up that. It's about getting down to the heart of what's off in our lives. I'm not the only one who's not always following the correct road. All of us are driving our lives off course, and none of us want to stop and ask for directions. But God wants to come into each of our lives, give us the direction we need, point us on the right way, and get us back on track. We must only have the courage and humility to get down on our knees, roll down our windows and ask for directions.

  • God's gift to you
    2026/03/10

In an address given to graduating seniors, Harvard biblical scholar Dr. Peter Gomes said, "The future is God's gift to you." What good words, huh? When we find ourselves stuck, our lives in a rut — that's when Jesus wants step right down into our rut with us. Not with judgement, shame, or condemnation, but with truth, mercy, healing, and hope. He wants to lift us up, heal our hurt, and give us a fresh start — a future. That's what happens with the sacrament of Confession. Jesus is there, waiting for you: thirsty for your trust, hungry to heal your heart, and eager to offer you a new future.
