    FOR YOUR SITUATIONAL AWARENESS:

During a Pentagon Prayer Breakfast last Wednesday, Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, read a fake bible verse that’s actually from the Quentin Tarantino movie, Pulp Fiction.

GOP Congressman Troy Nehls says Trump is “almost the second-coming” of Christ.

Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (GA) says America “needs to be healed” after supporting a sex-abuser, Trump, for so long.

The Louisiana state House advanced a bill that would force unhoused people to choose between jail or a treatment program (rehab). If they choose treatment, they have to pay for it, and if they can’t afford to pay, they’ll be forced to do unpaid labor for the state.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune has shelved the SAVE Act in favor of other legislation that has a better chance at passing. The bill would have disenfranchised 10s of millions of Americans of their right to vote.

Tucker Carlson apologizes for “misleading people” about Donald Trump.

The Southern Poverty Law Center has been indicted over their alleged use of paid informants to infiltrate white supremecist, and other extremist groups.

Virginia voters passed a redistricting measure on Tuesday, giving Democrats an advantage in the upcoming midterm election. 10 out of 11 available congressional seats are expected to go to Democrats.

Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN) has called on the left to embrace MTG (Marjorie Taylor Greene), Candace Owens, and other MAGA who have disowned Trump. On its face, it might seem like a bad idea–MTG in particular has made racist remarks toward Omar on the House floor–but Rep Omar’s logic is hard to argue with. 34:50

Join hosts Angela Rye, Andrew Gillum, and Bakari Sellers, along with guest-host Joshua Doss, for this segment from episode #127 that aired on 04-16-27.

  • Who Gets a Pass? | MiniPod
    2026/04/17

After a politician has done something wrong, when do we say they are redeemed? When do we let them back in? Of course it’s different if it's a public figure like a politician vs. just a friend, but are there red lines where we never allow them back again?

There’s been a spate of members of Congress credibly accused of fraud, sexual misconduct, and assault. Who is redeemable and why, and what must they do? We’ll get into specific examples with our hosts Angela Rye, Andrew Gillum, and Bakari Sellers, along with guest-host Joshua Doss from HIT Strategies.

    2. Pope Leo Says He Has “No Fear” of the Trump administration after Trump attacked the pope for speaking out against the war in Iran.
    3. Senate Leader Thune says the GOP is prepared to fill a SCOTUS vacancy if Justice Alito retires before the midterms.
    4. Baltimore has recorded its lowest homicide rate in about 50 years. There were 133 homicides in 2025, the next lowest year is 1965 with 131.
    5. Trump’s DOJ moves to toss out “seditious conspiracy” convictions for the role that members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers played in January 6th.
    6. According to research from HIT Strategies, 17% of Black men under 50 believe that Trump has made their lives better.
    7. Representative Ilhan Omar calls on the left to embrace MTG, Candace Owens, and other MAGA who have disowned Trump.

Congressman Eric Swalwell has dropped out of the California governors race and resigned from Congress (under pressure from his Democratic colleagues) after multiple women accused him of sexual assault. Did they oust him too soon, should allegations be enough to kick someone out? It’s a tough conversation to have post-MeToo Movement, but necessary: how should we respond to credible allegations against politicians that haven’t yet been proven? Where do we draw the line?

  • Pursuing Justice for Big Sam ft. DJ Quicksilva | Angela Rye SoloPod
    2026/04/14

Baltimore County Police Officer Derek Hadel was called to do a wellness check on Samuel “Big Sam” Brown last month. The encounter ended with the officer knocking Brown into the pavement, causing severe brain damage, and eventually death. Officer Hadel is under investigation for police misconduct.

It turns out this isn’t the first time Officer Hadel has been investigated for misconduct. In 2023, he crashed a police car in a “preventable at-fault” incident, but maintained his employment.

Host Angela Rye’s guest for today is DJ Quicksilva. Big Sam was Quicksilva’s tour manager and is running the Justice For Big Sam campaign.

CALL THE BALTIMORE ATTORNEY GENERAL, ask them to press charges on Officer Hadel: (410) 576-7070
