  • F1 Month Off Week 2 | GP Moves On, Colton Herta Comes Home, and Cadillac Prepares
    2026/04/15

This week, with Formula 1 still in the gap between Suzuka and Miami, we break down three of the biggest storylines shaping the next phase of the season.

First, we get into the growing uncertainty around Red Bull — GP’s eventual exit, Max Verstappen’s frustration with the new regulations, and why the old Red Bull empire is starting to feel a lot less permanent than it once did.

Then we shift over to Formula 2, where the rescheduling of the cancelled races brings the series to North America and gives Colton Herta a huge opportunity. We talk about what the new calendar means, how Colton’s rookie season has started, where he stands compared to the rest of the field, and what we should realistically expect from him moving forward.

And finally, because this is a Cadillac podcast, we bring it back to Team Cadillac and look at what this month off can actually fix before Miami. What should the team be focusing on? What needs to improve most? And what would real progress look like by the time the grid gets to South Florida?

Pump the Brakes is the Cadillac of F1 podcasts — built for fans following Cadillac’s journey to the grid, while keeping up with the biggest stories across Formula 1.

If you’re new here, welcome aboard.
