  • Season 3 - Episode 7 The hidden grief behind redundancy
    2026/04/09

Redundancy isn’t just a business process. It’s a loss. And with loss comes grief. In this episode I explore what’s really happening beneath the surface when someone is told their role is at risk and why understanding grief can completely change how you lead through redundancy.

From shock and anger to silence and overwhelm, these are natural human responses, not reactions to be managed or rushed. I talk about practical strategies to help you support line managers and ensure the emphasis stays on the person at the heart of the process.

  • Season 3 - Episode 6 How to support expectant and new mothers through workplace restructuring
    2026/03/26

I’m joined by Laura Duggal, a parental return-to-work coach, to explore what organisational change feels like from the perspective of new mothers and why this moment is critical for talent retention.

Because becoming a mother is already one of the biggest transitions in someone’s life. Then add a restructure into the mix everything can feel unsettling.

We talk about the fear of being replaced, the anxiety of returning to something unfamiliar, and the overwhelm when work has moved on while you were away.

  • Season 3 - Episode 5 Redundancy and Maternity Leave: Rights, Risks and Realities
    2026/03/12

Redundancy during pregnancy or maternity leave is a complex and sensitive area of employment law. In this episode of Redundancy Matters I’m joined by Clare Chappell, an independent employment lawyer with over 25 years’ experience supporting both employers and employees through difficult workplace situations. Clare specialises in advising women who are pregnant or on maternity leave and facing redundancy, as well as employers managing those processes, and she brings legal insight alongside a clear understanding of the human impact in this area.
