Ribburta wishes she could be a dancer like the rest of her family, but she has short legs that make it hard for her to dance. After her family is kidnapped by a greedy fox who wants the family to perform for him, she must find a way to trick him into letting her family go.

Ribburta and her friend, Redd, go to see the new fortune-teller. They soon realize the teller is a con artist who is trying to steal all of the squirrels’ nuts by hypnotizing them! They must come up with a plan to stop the squirrels from giving her their nuts. Will they be able to stop her in time?
